Went after work today and in the first hour I found 14 bullets. Pretty amazing considering I've gone over this certain area like 10 times just in different directions. Not to mention I dug foil signals that ended up being a bullet which I probably skipped last time. Some normal stuff...camp lead, rivets, I'm guessing some sorta buckle...not sure what off of, some type of finial piece and a piece of leather that crumbles at touch and I THINK a flat button that isn't so flat anymore(pictured at very top). Thanks for looking!

I'm not expert on this stuff, but I did find another piece similar a while back but only smaller and someone mentioned it was a piece off of a cartridge box. But it very well could be off of one just a larger size. Thanks for looking. Maybe someone can I.D. it a little better.

Invest in Howard R. Crouch's "Civil War Artifacts * A Guide for the Historian",very good reference book.Nice dig's

Winchester, Va.

Dat's gotta be some kinda record!! Way to go :headbang:

I was gonna ask if you were on the western side of virginia myself :laughing9:. Such a killer looking group and for a hour is obsene. Is that flatland. I know my area does not have many flat spots in it. It takes me an hour to climb the hill the battles were fought on.

The particular area is flat with small hillsides. It's a plowed field so I'm not digging that deep for them, plus the propointer saves an insane ammount of time. I was finding bullets in a few seconds and I would look up at my buddy from work and he was spending a lot of time on one hole.

That is awesome. Congrats on all those and hope you can get some cool buttons and maybe a buckle out of there. :coffee2:

Thanks bud. Yeah man I'm waiting on that nice buckle to pop up at some point. Some old silver wouldn't be bad either.

Imagine humping those hills in a wool uniform carrying 40lbs and somebody shooting at you!

Yeah that would probably less fun.

Nice haul of CW relics Matt.
Congrats,
MM
