Thanks! It came out of a Confederate Camp in Virginia that was also the site of a very early mill and ford. We got a few Conn coppers and some Georges out of there too.. soo not sure if it was used in 1812 of "recycled" by the Confederates. This site was close to Leesburg, VA which is where the USG brought a lot of documents when the British were approaching Washington.. so it might be a 1812 period drop.
