I found several of these things. They came in high 80's low 90's on my AT Pro. They are pretty heavy. I was guessing they are some kind of wheel wieght maybe. Not sure.

Any ideas? Thanks!

Looks to me like some kind of brake shoe or a wheel brake.

may be off some heavy machine. Like a loader

I hadn't thought of brakes.

That sounds like a good possibility to.

they almost look like brass when you wipe them off.

Looks like a beam guide for some type of telescoping loader arm on heavy equipment

On my cell it looks like a fuseable link

maybe magnets to keep ferrous material out of grain

The backing looks to be steel but what are the rectangular pucks made of? If they're lead, they won't have anything to do with brakes as they would melt under heavy use and wear too quickly under any kind of use. Are all the ones you found the same length? Not broken off a longer piece? Maybe a close up photo of the back and something to gauge size a little better.

It looks like it attached to two rods as the back part has two attaching or riding slots so possibly part of a conveying belt part I don't believe brakes as you still see numbers on the front so no wear as a brake pad would show wear.Obviously not the size of a Caterpillar or tank track but that is the style of conveyor I am thinking although the attaching elements could also have some side to side action involved.Almost like parts on a walking bed for farm equipment.

Also in the picture looks like a pin the round bullet looking part and the hook deal with the hole in it looks chain pulley (conveying) related.

If brass maybe electrical related

Lead is almost always used for it's weight or chemical properties. Using it for a tracked vehicle just doesn't make any sense to me. It would wear out in the first mile. A conveyor part? Same question....why lead?

Was throwing out some ideas looking at more than just the 2 lead or as OP said possibly brass when he cleaned them up they looked that way.Sad thing is I have seen this at some time in my life and I can't remember what it was I tore a lot of stuff apart as a kid just to see how it worked and it was probably then. But at almost 50 some of that is fuzzy.:laughing7:The items are in a truck bed so they are not all that small.

As far as conveying, On the back of the item it has two grooved riding rails that is why I said conveying maybe the wording was wrong and I should have said it rode on tracks or rails. To me that is still conveying though.JMO

Don't think of a straight conveyor the thinking is more like an articulated one like in a packing shed or warehouse and that part attaches to the belt itself.Just an idea because that could have been one of the places I saw this.
