✅ SOLVED Some kind of tag?

Found this today metal detecting not sure what it is or what it may be off of looks like some kind of tag it's dated 1966 and on the front it looks like it reads Stevens Detroit it's brass just a little bigger than a quarter if anybody might know what this is I would appreciate it

I believe it's a key tag for the Stevens Building, either for a room or locker,

The number, I believe, is not a date it is a serial number, so they know who’s keys they are attached to em. I would figure it’s about as old as the photo at the link above.
