Can you make out any of the letters? I think I see "HGTY" in the ribbon.

Based on the discoloring of the metal, it looks to have been in a fire, this is likely why the enameling on the face didn't survive :icon_scratch:
It's certainly heavily constructed, so it may very well be military, as opposed to simply being from a military college or a fraternity.

Hopefully someone here will recognize it for you,

Most likely a Distinctive Unit Insignia DUI or commonly called a Unit Crest. The screw on back is 1960’s or earlier. Here’s one that’s similar.

I think the 141st Field Artillery is possibly it, looking at the motto at the bottom, and the tiger’s ears can somewhat be made out:

I think that’s it, I knew the scroll wasn’t right on my example. There might be a little color left if it was cleaned up some...that might confirm it there’s some red left.
