Did the GAR medal have a date on it? Usually those are convention pieces...

Is that piece shown flat on the back or a complete little statue?

How tall is it? Is it brass? Is that enough questions? :D

My initial reaction is it's a Saint holding a child... at least thats what I see. No idea on age though.

the medal just had 1861-1866
it is only 1 inch tall and its a full statue
im not sure what kind of metal it is but its not brass. its a white metal maybe aluminum

There have been several posts on here about little saint's (and Virgin Mary) statues that date back to the Civil War. These have been found in campsites too. This item could be of the same vintage. I'll try to find the post...
