Found this detecting around an old townsite on a piece of old road that lead out of it hidden in the trees.looks to me by the odd shape of it that it might have been on some type of belt that went across your chest or maybe on the side of a briddle.I only think that because its rounded on one side.on the back the bar going across the back use to be square so what ever went through the top hole im guessing would go through there too.its not a pin.maybe its something a woman would wear in her bun.any help would be great.thanks.

It looks to be half of a sash buckle. Probably Victorian, but it could be earlier. Great find back in April I found half of one, and a family member found the other half on a metal detecting hunt, the pieces were at least 100 feet apart. I thought that that was pretty cool. The two piece made an ornate heart. These sash buckles are made of thin metal.
