I dug this up on a new farm yesterday.... very good quality copper alloy, about 13cm long, 8mm wide tapering to 4mm in a curve, only about 1mm thick thinning off at the edges. Smooth on one side, uniformed line design on the other.
Hoping its some kind of blade or scraper, any ideas? Thanks.

Looks like a "reap hook" to me. Bigger versions were called scythes. My Grandad referred to them as "tools of torture". If you've ever had to use the big ones you know what he means.

Also referred to as scythes.

And yeah, BACK breakers! (The big ones)

thats what I'm thinking it looks like there are some grooves at the thicker end that may have been used to mount it? It looks old, maybe it was dropped and the wood disapeared with time leaving the metal part (sythe blade) behind.

More a sickle than a scythe?

I suspect it is neither.

Maybe part of a handle

As suggested - Medieval sickle blade.

I can see a spear tip or arrowhead made from copper/alloy.But not a sickle blade. No way it would keep a edge from constant cutting.Nor would it be stronge enough being that thin.It would not hold up.Best guess is just some scrap piece cut from kettle or some other item.I've found many odd looking scrap pieces of copper cut into shapes.Sometimes for me though they can be native american indian pieces used from trade items for many purposes.
Good to see you posting again,
Take Care,
