Ok It looks like "Cow Patty" to me. I enlarged it and it looked like an even bigger load. Im just not seeing it maybe the grass is hindering the view.

Is it hollow where a handle could have went through it?

I found it in a remote area, which hadn't be settled since 1850's

Now it looks different. You need to clean it up. Electrolysis is best but at least soak it in water and clean the dirt off. Its hard to ID with clumps of dirt stuck to it.

I dont know!But it is starting too look more like some kind of battle ax head!What part of the world are you from?I would let it dry out real good before I tried to get some of that iron off .Be careful because that could be somethin nice?

Looks like the top of a old weather vane. it is upside down in pic on the right side is an eagle head and the beak is facing up, just a thought, i'll go with a old axe of some sort

Bluedog makes a good point. Are all of us looking at this from the right angle? I think weathervane it's a very good possibility. I could go 50-50: weathervane-axe.

It's the right way up, and it had a spear point on the tip. The wood shaft is in it still. I'm having a hard time cleaning it, it's very fragile. It was down about a foot in the ground
