Some keepers this first May weekend

Friday I tried to pull a Boobydoo and get some $$ and Jewelry. Best I could do in any hour and a half was $2.10 with a fake ring. :P Hit a playground/baseball field. Result – 2 dimes and 1 Quarter. The next park produced some stuff but had to cut it short.

So Saturday Nate had the SAT test to take, I helped my brother move and we went to Nate’s track meet. I picked him up around 6pm but we wanted to get in a quick hunt. Went to the Iceberg and had a good time.

Ten minutes at the site and the first coin I dig is a silver Rosie. :) I knew it was going to be a decent hunt. Next 20 coins were all wheat pennies(although the IH penny was in there I didn’t find out til I got home). While I was working an area Nate had wandered off. He was gone a while and I was beginning to wonder if he was finding stuff. Then he shows up and tells me there is a new spot he has found with “silver everywhere”. So I head over to the spot and quickly get a merc. Shortly after another merc. Was a fun hunt but had to quit as it was very dark. So in an hour and a half I came home with and IH, 3 silver and 25 wheats.

PS - In honor of Nick I had to post today’s dinner – Grilled Burgers. Not exactly Mamageiorgo’s finest but they were good. ;)

Also - The marble in the pic is from last weekend at ZoSo’s silver mine.

Beautiful old coins Bob, and great looking burgers too! Yum!!
Keep trying for that gold my friend, it will happen. The Iceberg always comes through for you guys, what a place. I just love that marble too, that one is a beauty!! Congrats!!

Nice finds, Mirage! You guys are lucky to have a place like the iceberg close by that produces so well for all of you. I'm simply amazed to hear about the consistent finds from this place.

Thanks for sharing.

And now, I don't know why, I suddenly have an urge to fire up the grill ;D

Fantastic finds Guys!!! Great post and pictures. You're making me hungry now. ;D
Awesome job,
MM

Cruelty! First I have to look at the silver and all those wheats, then suddenly I'm staring at burgers on the grill! It's 10:35pm and I'm powerless to do anything about either. Good day!

Great finds again Mirage, you guys are hot. Gary and I better get over your way soon, before you guys find all the good stuff. LOL!

:D Hey, blame Nick. He started the whole food thing. ;D :D :D

Also, getting closer to that 100! Yeah right. ::)

Mirage...Great haul....Darn I like those Merc's....Hmmmmmm...any burgers left...Would make a great midnight snack..lol

WOW!!! great coins you found there! the extra advantage of finding silver by and large is that it preserves very well in soil for many many years. The burgers look yummy! May all your hunts and cookouts be satisfying and fulfilling! Here's to ya, and Happy Hunting my friend! :)

Silver, silver everywhere in Ohio! :o GRRRREAT keepers there Bob! Love it too, when ya get home and find a suprise in the keeper pocket! 8) Bet you guys are anxious to get back out there!

Congrats and keep 'em coming! Nana :)

You are one heck of a coin hunter, Um I gotta go I am feeling very hungry all of a sudden!

Oh, good, now the 'berg is kickin' out pre-1900's stuff ?? Man, I gotta get me one'a dose. Nice digs guys, slow week for me, but I'm at 27 silver for the year, so don't cry for me argertina(or Ohio).

So Bob...looks like I am free next Sunday and a few swings at the Berg sounds good about now.

And as far as this week, are you thinking after work, and where?...it'd have to be Thursday and Spencer would be with me.

Looks like your silver counts going up nicely.I'm surprised more IHs don't show up at the Berg. Maybe a deeper layer?

Wow, Mirage, nice digs. You always make those coins look so good after cleaning. Hope the new spot keeps producing, although it will be pretty tough to compete with the "original" Iceberg.

Burgers looked delicious, but I wouldn't trade them for the homemade ravioli, french bread and Ceasar salad I had last night!

It is nice to see the "Ohio Dudes" getting out for some fun-filled relic hunting!
