Well, I had been given a few coins a while back from my great grandmother (34 total), and just recently found out that different types are worth more than others...I had always assumed it was just worth melted silver. So today I decided to do a little research and find out what I had. This is what I found:
6 silver quarters
18 silver dimes (counting one netherlands one)
3 wheat pennies
2 1964 silver half dollars
1 silver eagle
4 buffalo nickels
I went through each of them looking for mint marks and found:
1937 D Quarter
1948 D Quarter
1964 D Half Dollar
1947 D Dime
1957 D Dime
1959 D Dime
1962 D Dime
1963 D Dime
(4) 1964 D Dime
1958 D Wheat Penny
1953 D Wheat Penny
I think the best one is the 1937 D Quarter from the small amount of research I've done, but would love to hear your insight. It's nice to know my coins are worth more than expected, now I have to find something to keep them safe in...Kind of been letting them bounce around in a jar all this time .
Thanks for your time!
