That’s some outrageous math...but depending on the area and if it’s in Colorado...I’d believe it :)

I think they hit the mother lode, wow.

OMG that’s amazing. Wonder if they still have a hangover!

Figures it is the land down under they have some of the best stuff always wanted to go check it out but have never got the chance yet.

If they could slab and polish it, they could sell it for many times the actual gold content!

I know the Canadian fella who's company is mining this location. I would think he'll be doing something like that and also display some samples in his office. I delt with the guy when his company was mining the Hollister mine in Nevada.

I slobbered all over that case they had the Hand of Faith Nugget in the Golden Nugget casino in Vegas I think it weighed 65 pounds found in Australia metal detecting.

Yeah that would really be something. The Denver museum of nature and science has some wonderful displays of native gold found through out the history of Colorado. I'm fairly sure there's still some wonderful specimens still to be found somewhere in the rocky mountain west.

I like that Summitville boulder that is in that museum that will give you gold fever, I use to spend a lot of time around Summitville.

That summitville Boulder is one of my favorite specimens down there. The Idarado produced some nice examples also. Years ago living in the upper Arkansas river valley I spent a lot of time prospecting. I worked a 7 day shift schedule at the Climax mine and would have that 5 day long change to go 4 wheeling all over the back roads. Back then there wasn't so many others to come around and question what your up to or camp for nothing. Hell now it's all like the back country of California. Last summer I pulled off to go artifact looking around the Blue Mesa Res. You will find stuff on the hilltop's of the sage. I was up on a hill and herd someone holler at me down below. I went down and there were two young bear hat wearing park rangers. They said they saw me randomly wandering around and wondering if I was okay. They both had sidearms and the one baby-faced ranger looked very nervous at me and he had his hand up just below his weapon. I said to him, I'm fine dude and told them I just needed to get off the road and stretch my legs a little and I just enjoy walking through this stage country and looking at all the various rocks and plant life in this kind of terrain. They said they were just concerned I was okay and as long as I'm not picking things up and taking them out of the park I was free to enjoy doing what I was doing. That was in the summer time and it's better to go explore during the off season I've found.

Good thing you were not packing they would have had you on the ground.

Just to keep things in perspective, it took the mine 100 years to reach the depth of this deposit..and they were so far in debt they were about to sell. Incredibly rare, but amazing

Makes you wonder how many other old abandoned projects had been given up on not knowing they were just a few meters away from a strike.

Isn't that the one that was only producing gold as a by product? They had hit small deposits occasionally and then hit this super pocket?
