Worked with Jer and Louis on setting up a hunt at a site in the city. Big area of public woods, definitely old, but not many really good lost homesites coming up in the overlays. Sort of a sketchy area as well.

Well, Jer hit it huge in the first hour of the first target area. (Like biggest gold ring I’ve ever seen dug!! And big silver) We hiked around for a couple hours, found some more sites

but ended up back at the first site, where I finally got on the board with a 1892 Barber dime.

(Pics include some finds from a hunt on Sunday as well)

Here are my silvers, tiny salt shaker.

Got one of those flapper buggy guides.

Couple interesting spoons.

Luggage tag

And the rest of the goodies

Good luck out there and Merry Christmas!

You got some pretty nice results from that long shot site...:icon_thumright:

That had to be some miserable digging :laughing7:
Congrats on your dedication and perseverance :headbang:

Hey buddy those are some amazing pics the fancy on those forks or spoons are just gorgeous and the big piece of silver is amazing that’s quite a sight just be careful when you’re out there I know about them sketchy places. Merry Christmas

Nice finds Thad.

Had a good time tracking down some sites and recovering a little bit of history.

You did a great job lining up the sites.

I think the area warrants another hunt.

Pics just make the area look bad. The one site was the only snow covered area literally in the whole woods.

If that was my last hunt of the year it sure was a memorable one.

Here's a pic of the ring. Not sure if I'll get a post up or not

Hope to get back out again this week.

Jer

We definitely had a fun hunt. I would have never researched that area if it wasn’t for your hunch.

Nice going on the silver and relics.
Here's a forum discussion regarding the makers of the shaker.

Thx! The shaker piece had a great signal, but was smashed and looked like a screw lid cap but had that silver blackened look, I was surprised that it was a silver salt shaker.

Kool hunt all around but the INDY TAG is this Hoosier boys FAV!!!!!

Thad,

That's the best part I think about group hunting. We can share ideas cross check maps etc.

Once we put our heads together then we can come up with a plan more like an adventure.

But it's always fun just getting out and tracking down some sites.

let me know if you fellas wanna get out this week.

Jer
