Anthrcite coal...interesting, what would be a method to test for that or if its slag? it is very light for its size btw..

Doesn't look like any slag I have ever seen. Not enough impurities

There your clue. Try putting a flame to it.

It looks more like glass slag to me but if it's truly lightweight it could be high VOC Anthracite.

Most slag is the "clinkers" left from burning coal. The impurities in the coal melt into slag when the coal is burned.

Some slag comes from glass foundries and mine smelters.

If it's coal it should burn.

lol that makes sense Clay. I held a lighter to the back side and it charred or at least turned black...I may not have held the flame to it long enough to determine anything though.. photo below of burn mark and second photo is a new front side shot way over exposed to try and show more detail
