I haven't posted in a while. I've been too busy hunting stuff and catching up on other projects. Here's a few things that I've found lately:
If you had to put a name on this what would it be? It is 1 1/2" tall and smooth on the backside.
I found this one in a place where I find tons of flakes and chip, but not a lot of finished things. Its about an 1 1/4 tall. Am I on the right track in thinking that this was probably a bigger point at one time and has been resharpened probably several times?
This one is about an 1 1/3" Tall. What name would you attach to this thing? Plain old scraper?
I found this in one of our favorite washouts. An ATV was kind enough to kick it out of the ground. It is worked at the base so that it could be easily hafted (I suppose). Its 1 1/2" tall. I would have called this an arowhead a year ago. Now I would call it a knife. Right?
Here's a blunt that I found not long ago. First one that I've found like this, so I was glad to see it.
Here's one my wife picked up on the way back home yesterday. I like this one. At first glance I thought it was nice, but broke. A little closer look tells that it was broke, but was worked into a scraper at the break and the stem was worked into a knife. I'm not sure if all the work is going to show up, but this makes a very nice tool. This was probably a knife in the first place (right?), just ended up a different kind of knife knife.
I've been hunting for about six months and know how to find it. I'm just not always sure about my speculating, though I certainly know a heck of a lot more than I once did - partly through this site. I don't always have time to post, but I read it all.
