Got back to the 1780 house for a few hours yesterday. Decided to hit one of the fields around it. Working a large field takes a lot of patience, but you can usually find some nice old dropped items if you take your time. My brother, (Detectodude) is coming out Wednesday night from California for our 7 day fall hunt. Seven days of just detecting. I have been saving some really good spots for him, so I have been sticking to some of the fields around some of my good old stand bys. I will let everyone know how we do starting Thursday night. Here is a picture of some of my finds from yesterday. The item in the bottom center is a lead pencil. This field is right across the street from the remains of an old one room school house....Lance

Great finds, Lance. Can't wait to see what you and your brother dig up! It's probably obvious to everyone else, but what is the thing in the bottom center?

Nice buckles and toe plates.

Good luck to you and your brother, Comfy. I know you'll have lots of great stuff to show us.
