Today was a good day, well i suppose any day detecting is a good day but today was an all day event for me. 930 am-500pm. Went to one of my spots that seems to be slowing down a bit and once again said i was gonna dig anything w/ a repeatable signal or that i can pinpoint. only managed to pull about 6-8 square nails, some junk and a horseshoe that i forgot to take a picture of. I was about to call it a day there and hit this one section of the yard and bang! 1920 merc saves the day! (Just like you said yesterday WHADIFIND!) anyhow i wasnt getting much signals after that so I just went on a nice country drive in search of my next spot. About 15 miles later I spotted what i thought was a gem, I approached the owner and hardly said 3 words and he said sure go right ahead. This house was circa 1880s and looked awesome! My first target was a hem weight, ended up getting 2 of those today. The ground was super soft, my first penetration into the soil almost put me on my face because of how easy it was to dig lol. I think thats why the targets were hard to find here, I believe w/soft soil, they got much deeper. I pulled 4 wheats from there along w a 1908 IH, 1929 buffalo, the 2 hem weights, one says 5 the other says 3, a key, a copper broach w/some fake bling on it, those 2 wierd bird looking things, and that super awesome shield that says "UNION" on it, im pretty pumped about that thing even though i have no clue of the age of it. It rang in at a solid 78-80 at 6 inches. anyone feel free to chime in if you know what it is or have a guess. THanks for looking and HH!!!
