My "hot spots" are sadly drying up on this 400+ acre property I've had since last year. There are a few stragglers here and there. I still managed to get a few keepers on this brisk day. A couple spencer bullets, a fired and flattened .69 caliber and a cool carved Williams cleaner. Cot a couple flat buttons and another thimble for the year. The buckle was probably the nicest find. Not sure exactly what type it is or the age on it. Appears colonial, but maybe Bill D. can help me on that. Thanks for looking and HH!

All in all not a bad hunt there Matt!!! That buckle is SWEET!!! Looks to be colonial but what do I know, not a lot of that stuff here in good ol' Ind... That site has treated you VERY well and I bet there are a few more jewels left for you bud!! GL&HH....

Most of us would allow some drying up to get the remains of a place like that! Very nice, Matt:thumbsup:

Can't provide a positive ID on your buckle Matt, but I don't think its colonial. Looks more Victorian than pre-1800, but I could be wrong. Nice find regardless.

Thanks, Bill. I'm no expert and with no one concrete era in these fields, it's hard for me to pinpoint age unless I know for certain what it is. I only assumed colonial because in this certain part of the field more colonial has come out than other time periods. Thanks for the info, Bill.

Awesome "dried up" hunt Matt! I would love a day like that.
Great looking buckle. Congrats on the carved lead.

NICE HUNT - NICE FINDS

Matt, sadly the law of diminishing returns takes over on all sites eventually. I'm sure that site has more hunts left in it. Nice finds, Q.

Oh no, it's not done by a long shot. But one person up against 400 acres it does become tiresome...not complaining though. lol

That's a terrible problem to have, lol. Great finds Matt and dig that place clean!

There were two guys that hunted the property before and another guy that hunts it every now and then I think. They either missed the hot spots or there was a TON more before I started there last year. I've pulled so much out of this spot its unbelievable.

The buckle is close to 1900 (10 years either way)

Thanks, Cru. Way off from colonial I guess. lol
