Hello Forum,

I went for a short hunt, and this is what I found. I am not sure of all the markings, but I think I am looking at solid gold (SG), 21K, and not sure of 29???

Can anyone give me a better idea of what this means? Thanks for looking! FullSizeRender (1).jpgFullSizeRender.jpg

That is sweet.

I believe it is from India, or Arabic.

Edit: AARC might be right. Apparently they make necklace and earring sets for weddings. Google 21K earring... and the sets will appear.

Weigh it, and see if the "2g" on the back is two grams.

Yep... tis gold... and REALLY good gold...

Prolly from a Hindu wedding or such.

This strikes me as from India origin... IMO.

dang, thats awesome clad! Lol, seriously though. Wonder what that is worth? has to be some money there if solid....

Nice, fancy piece of gold jewelry! :occasion14:

Thanks for looking. This could mean Saudi Gold (SG) 21K, and I now believe that the 29 is the weight measure. Different from ours. it is similar in weight to a US quarter.

Carolina Tom, I bet you are correct that it's 2G. I thought it said 29. Anyway, I had one place offer me $190.00, and another offer $160.00 I will try one last place tomorrow.

L like when one of us finds something great glad to see it . Looks like those pennies got a few doses of fertilizer Thanks for sharing!!!!!

If you have offers of 160.00 and 190.00 its a lot more then 2 grams.
just for general information I put in the chart below.

[h=2]Purity / Fineness[/h]The BIS recognise the following gold purities:

  • 375 : 9 carat
  • 585 : 14 carat
  • 750 : 18 carat
  • 875 : 21 carat
  • 916 : 22 carat
  • 958 : 23 carat

Congratulations on the nice gold recovery! :occasion14:

Any gold is a good day.

That's some serious gold! Congrats on such a great treasure!

Gold on KITCO today = $1200/ oz --31 Gr/ oz so 1 gr=$38.70--2gr=$77.40
So a $160 offer for the gold only would need 5.2 gr to break even--- Perry
