Ok I found a few items at a place last night that was within 50 yards of an area where an Eagle Button and a 69 Cal 3-ringer have been found.

I'm not sure about this ball. It doesn't have rust on it is made out of lead, the brown stuff is dirt I haven't cleaned off. The size is what puzzles me.

The buckle and the "sling" thing are interesting. The Brass round thing was folded in half and then half again so I got it as unfolded as I thought I could.

The last thing I'm not sure about.

Does anyone have any ideas on any of these items??

Re: Some junk

Nick, I know what you mean but that thing is the same color as the three-ringer Baldingboy pulled out of the ground and I cleaned it a little agressively at first because I thought it was a ball bearing.

Re: Some junk

Could the rusted piece be a frame to a small net? Something like this but older.

Re: Some junk

Nicky, I don't think it has to have to have a white patina to be old. :-* I've found a few old pieces of lead that didn't have the color. :) Got a CW bullet around here somewhere that's gray..no white on it anywhere. :)

Re: Some junk

what size dia is it?-- not all lead oxides --turns white --mostly yes but sometimes no -- due to soil conditions or lead mixture make up
