I got what appears to be an 1859 pattern cavalry spur and a brass canteen spout from a central Mississippi site yesterday.

Very cool finds. Congratulations.

I love that T. Miller button....Interestingly, I found an Artillery (A) T.Miller button 2 years ago across the river from Vicksburg in Madison Parrish, LA.

Hey, that (A) T.Miller is a great find. The funny thing is I found a Louisiana State Seal button about 50 yards from the (C) T.Miller. and a local Cavalry, brass front and iron back which was gone, another 100 yards from the Louisiana button. Plus a Texas state seal button in the same field. Also my hunting partner found a Federal (I) Eagle button a little further down the field. A lot and varied activity in this field.

Very nice finds

Yes, you've got a lot of button varieties at your site.
