Solved! New Brunswick Half Penny Currency 1854

Hi All,
Had a great hunt today,
Lots of neat finds.
This has me stumped, cannot find a match
No text visible on obverse, left facing bust.
Reverse top line possibly ' New ?? X/K '
" "" Bottom line 'Half Penny Currency'
28 mm.
Pitt Tokens, & some British merchant tokens display Ship & some have GW bust.
Also early 'Bermuda' ship coinage is similar.
I need some rest, been searching waaay too long

Sure looks like what 'creskol' reference.
If so, your coin is composed of copper and had a mintage of 864k pieces.
A few years ago, in VG-8, the coin was worth $3 ($100 in MS-60).

Indeed.
That is the piece.
Of all the sites I researched on this item, I neglected Xbay,
Not to mention the fact that I was searching for an item I thought was 100 years older
I am seeing that this piece was minted in only two years, 1843 and 1854, odd.

Both the '43 and the '54 were issued in copper and have the same relative values today though the '43 had only 55% of the mintage (480k VS 864k). Absent a visible date, the easiest way to differentiate the two is a word in the legend. Yours , the '54, has the word CURRENCY; the '43 has the word TOKEN instead of CURRENCY.

Pretty big jump in value from VG-8 to MS-60. Many dug coins has higher value for the finder
