I found this coin on a property that has a house that was built in 1914, but the yard leads to the woods where the remains of an old carriage road can still be seen. The yard also had a carriage house that burned down in the 60's, but it was old. About 20 feet from where I found this coin, I found a 1720 George I Half Penny. About 50 feet away I found a 1854 seated liberty dime. So there are older items in this area.
I can make out at least 2 Fleur DE Li's on one side, I'm assuming it is the reverse. If it is French, there is most likely a third. On this side there appears to be writing encircling it, but I can't make out the words, perhaps in a different language.
I have oriented the obverse based on the Fleur DE Li's being in an upside down triangle pattern, so I flipped it like a normal coin. Up near the top I can make out some raised edges that looks like spiky hair. Near the bottom is also some ragged detail, perhaps the base of a bust. However if you rotate it 90 degrees, these two areas would line up as if they were a wreath. I just can't tell what is going on with the obverse.
Thanks in advance for your assistance.
