The Clip is solved, I could still use some thoughts on the other item please.

I plan to leave most of the stuff I am digging to the local museum and or land owner to display in. That is if I have anything interesting, I don't want to throw something in a scrap iron pile that might be significant to the areas history!

Not sure of the use of either of these items, What are they, how old might they be... sure could use you help again!

Sorry about those awful photos, I should have used my flash. I can't get to the objects right now, but I did try to lighten up a couple of them. I can get the items back in for a better photo in a day or two, if it isn't solved by then, I will do that.
thank you for responding.

The clip is from an old Ammo box, or something of that ilk. No idea on the other.

Hello Cindy. Ill give you a few tips. Number one, use a darker background like a blue or green tablecloth. Two, use a good overhead reading adjustable arm light with flash off or 2 light sources from different angles or better yet use outside daylight midday to minimize shadows. Dont forget to use the flower icon macro setting.

Looked at ammo boxes, I am having trouble seeing that. If you have a photo that could help, I would be most thankful!

:P

I think the larger piece is a incomplete metal bycycle pedal :)

It is called a toggle latch. I don't think yours is heavy enough for an ammo box. Maybe a sewing box or a lunch box or a tool box...

I remember 2 latches like that on portable sewing machine boxes or even an old tackle box.

Re: One Un-Solved Better photos of both items. Need Help Identifying Please

Your other object appears to be either a singletree clevis, or doubletree clevis, depending on what horse cart site I went to.

This singletree clevis & pate assembly is often used on lighter carts, pony and light horse buggy shafts, and light horse doubletrees. The caster and yoke are all one assembly. The bottom of the ?E? is where the doubletree evener and/or the cart crossbar fit and the upper section of the ?E? is where the singletree fits. There are upper and lower wear plates that fasten to the singletree. The bolt in this assembly is 5/16".
