since I Had to go to the store
& My regular Spot is still Closed due to Flooding,
I Decided to take the Fountain Mountain
& See why that is still posted closed.
(I had to drive over Piles of stone washed accross
the road at several spots going down the North side.
Realy Bad)

Plus I Wanted to check out a former
1875 School I'v been
watching for the past 35 Years
waiting Patiently for somone to be there.




Today was the day. I Past the school
at 55MPH rememberd I Forgot to look
& Turned around. Truck there & door Open

So I Stopped & Asked.

After Promising to Share a Million dollar coin
if I Find one, & Getting info on Property lines.

I Headed out.

Nice looking site, I don't know if I'd go back, then again don't know how much of it you covered, and more time there could bring up some goodies.

Trash wasn't Abundant Either. I'm guessing it was Hunted hard



There were small 1" holes everywhere,
but I'm sure it was animals Digging Grubs.

I Hunted it something like this, But definately Missed
some, even though it isn't a Big area.
The longer I walk, The Faster I walk,
causing space between swings
Also had to pass on a Few Deeper then 8"
in gravel. would have made a mess.
Wheats red dot, Indian Green Dot.
Clad was all South Half of Yard.
Non of the coins more then 5" deep.



Definately will Get back the day before Our Next rain
(Flooding probably) which is due wednsday Afternoon I Believe.

But want to try & work it this way

Tree Touching the school on the Right Is gone now.
don't remember if stump still exists.
will look next time for sure.
Front is also Very Electrified from Power
lines, & Very Trashy. Detector went Insane.
Will need to Use Small coil up there.

the Other trees are in the Neighbors Yard.
He didn't walk over so Didn't get the chance to
Chat about it.

No trees on property at all any more.

Indian looks like Mower or Plow.
I Didn't think Mowers Existed early 20th.
Century though. at least not Power Mowers.

Despite Crust all coins look like they were Very New when
lost Indian has full Liberty under the crust

& apparently the way it's Washed out on the May 1939 Arial
I Never noticed.

But Yes it looks like a Ball field where I Found the wheats.

Like the plot maps Jeff, quite a bit of effort just to show us. Actually all your post show effort, and very few show maps of exactly where the hunt took place.

Going in a different direction can, and does make a difference. I thought I had this one place gridded off pretty good as there was a bit of snow on the ground, anyway I went back this spring because it is close by, and found three coppers. I think it is a place that will always have one more find.

Looks like a foundation on the upper part and some type of oval in the middle of the field. Did you hit those spots hard? Maybe this winter's frost heaves will get you some new recoveries next year.

foundation is actually a pavilion now with
chicken Barbque pit.

Not sure about the Oval ?
you talking the well worn area in the middle ?
perhaps where most foot traffic was
on the occasions the place is used.

I may try and hit it tomorrow afternoon again.
rain coming tomorrow night now

Very strange is there were 2 Pickups there & Me
& there was no place left to park.

Road has no place to pull off anywhere near
the school. Back yard either used for Parking
or Everyone walks or gets Bussed for events

Or only the 2 houses there show up

I circled the areas. The orange square is around the square area and the brown circle is around the oval. Wonder what they may have been. Seems like you've worked it but it's always a challenge to find more!
