Solid round heavy solid platinum ball?

Found this and has to be def the best one yet! Its solid platinum but don't know what it would be for?? Anyone help would be fab thanks guys!!

Saw a pic of one somewhere but it said nothing about its origin. My guess was as a form before using for jewelry or something but other shapes are supplied to that industry. Found this as a use though.Only larger diameter found but there may be other uses for a big one?

The closer up pic it says 950 solid platinum u can see the 950 easily but I can't get too good of a pic of the words still trying to get the built up oily residue off of it due to the fact that old platinum get a heavy oily residue on it

Another tip if u didn't know is if something is solid platinum just drop it in a glass of water and it should make the water bubble

gojo or dawn dish detergent should work, i had to clean some 90 weight oil i had spilled on
those laminate cherry wood floor, worked great didnt ruin the shine or cause the wood to stain
should work great on metal, your ball looks pitted did, you dig it kool find
