Oh forgot to mention why I posted it- why would someone have a lead buckle? There's no strength to whatsoever? It doesn't look field made, so I don't think it was something just to get by with temporary?? Thanks, Snaps

More than likely an insert to a brass buckle. It probably was made inside to make it stronger. Idk just a educated guess

Civ22, Thanks for reply, yea that seems viable,guess it'll be tough figuring out what the brass part looked like- pretty wild too how it got stripped of it leaving no remnant, like how you usually find stuff smashed an folded, bet there's a good story we'll never know.. hope your out an about Snaps

I'm just curious if it might have possibly been part of a weighted dive belt or something, and not really a buckle at all.

Icewing, could be, weird place for diving gear to turn up, but sometimes this is the wrong hobby if you want Rime or Reason
