Jump ring to the lobster claw is NOT soldered is a not a good sign for gold.
Run a magnet over your chain, if it sticks to the magnet, not good.

I think Wolf may be right. My wife bought a necklase that looks exactly like that one. Looks very nice, and she was very happy with it. But it cost a whole lot less than the genuine thing.
