solid copper 
found at colonial dorchester charleston sc
I found this metal detecting rite outside the gates of colonial Dorchester in Charleston SC two feet from the creek. This thing is about 2.5"x1.5" it has holes in it as if its a tag of some kind. The item appears to be solid copper and the thickness tapers from thick at the bottom and gets skinny up near where the holes are you can see in the pics sand/barnacles adhered to it which i believe takes a long time for this to happen.
