Detector(s) used
Minelab X-Terra 705
Multiple pinpointers
Primary Interest:
All Treasure Hunting
I have had my E-Trac about a year now but I have used it less than 20 hours. NOT been abused. Only thing wrong is the foam handgrip a guy was standing over it with his rod and dropped the rod and hit my grip and cut it slightly. I am going to repair it but wanted it to be known by any buyer.

Selling it because several of the 5 detectors I have, have to go. No room. And I am an old fart and this detector though its a good one, well, its too smart for me. Or I am too dumb for it. A friend of mine used it last week and had one of the best days he ever had. He already has an explorer and loves his but he wanted to try mine. He figures to maybe get one this fall. In the meantime, I gotta sell mine. Asking 1250.00 with everything. These sell for over 1400.00 now new, but without the extra coil and pole and the Sunray probe. Both add alot of value to this. I have the original box, but I am in Florida now and the box is in storage in Colorado. If that is something you just gotta have, I might, and I do say might be able to get my son up there to get into the storage unit, find the box and then ship the empty box to you. Up to you. Would cost you some bucks for shipping though.

Comes with 2 coils, Sunray probe, two lower rods for each coil, two upper rods, one with the sunray attached. Its on an older blue explorer model rod which is the same as the Etrac rod. I cut a hole in the blue one to thread the cable through so it could be inside the rod as it should from the coil. The original black upper rod I have never used.

Everything works well. Oh, it also includes the Andy Sabicsh book on the Explorer and Etrac. A must have book. Also the manual and field guide. And the CD for the software and the link cable for connecting the etrac to your computer.

The extra coil is the 5 inch Excellerator EQ2 Pro wideband double D. Both coils have covers.

Two powerpacks, the battery pack and the rechargeble pack.

3 screen covers, one fits well, the other is snug so not sure if it is for the etrac or not. The third cover I use to cover the some coil when placed in the case. Oh, and the detector does come with a minelab carry case.

And for those who feel the need, I am also throwing in the shoulder harness to take the weight off even though this detector is pretty light weight anyway.

Asking 1250.00 for it all. Or make me an offer. I am known on the forum, bought and sold stuff, though I havent been active for a few months now since my wife and I have been traveling. Payment via Paypal only at this point please. And no sales outside the US.

Yea, but some of it missed. But it wiped clean. And it did sell. Went to ship it today and the dang place wanted almost a hundred bucks to pack it and ship it. Just 200 miles. Talk about a ripoff. Said no thanks and am now just going to pack it up myself and get the shipping label online. I shipped too dang much the last few years in my business to know it aint no way going to cost that dang much. I cant name names but wish I could. Sheese. When the gal tried to tell me that she wanted 58 bucks for the shipping charges my jaw hit the floor, and when she told me that didnt include the packing fee and then told me 46 bucks for that including the box, my jaw bounced twice. This was at one of their so-called "Stores". I shipped too many things that weighed more and were in larger boxes. This was a ripoff as far as I was concerned.

Re: Etrac SOLD

If it was paid with Paypal print the label from there and make sure you use UPS (you get a shipping discount). I can ship a detector from coast to coast for under $20. If you are going to double box look behind small retail stores for the "carboard" dumpsters. I also found pet shop/supply stores to have a good selection of different size boxes. Take your measurements and go in and ask for an old box. The one thing I do whether I double box or not is buy a small roll of bubble wrap and wrap the control box and coil (and anything else that could break) Good luck and stay away from the shipping stores.

Regards,
Ron
PS I been selling car parts, hobby supplies and the occasional detector on E-bay for close to nine years now. I've even shipped to countries I've never heard of.

Re: Etrac SOLD

Yea, I know about printing the label from paypal. I dont like doing that though cause Paypal gets a kickback and they get enough of my money. I know about what the shipping costs should be. I had my own business for over 5 years selling vintage car parts on Ebay. I , like you also shipped world-wide and here in the states. :icon_thumleft: Literally boxed or crated and shipped thousands of parts all over the place..and to some countries I never heard of nor care if I hear of them again really.

I had never used one of those package stores before and the only reason I went to them was because I was down here in Florida for the winter, living in my RV doing the snowbird scene. I figured it would be easier to just have that package store do the packing and ship it and didnt really think it would cost that much more.

Boy was I wrong. ??? Like I said, my jaw bounced off the floor a couple of times :help: :angry4: when the gal behind the counter told me what they wanted to charge me. I asked her who she thought she was kidding. She tried telling me, Oh no, we charge the standard U## rates. I told her no way in He## was what she was trying to charge me was their standard rates. Maybe double standard. She looked at me like I was nuts. Told her I had shipped enough boxes to fill up her dang store a dozen times over. :pain10:

I still have my business account with the main company and will use it. As to boxes, yea, I have done the dumpster diving bit and hitting the big box stores for cardboard boxes when I first started on Ebay back in, heck...98. I was just selling stuff of my own back then. Got into the vintage car parts biz later with a buddy and never looked back. Before we quit the business last year we had been buying our boxes by the pallet and our shipping area took up about 1000 sq ft at our place of business. Not huge, but big enough for a biz started by a couple of countryfried yokels like we were. :icon_pirat:

As I said, I had never even gone inside the door of one those " U## Stores" or ANY packaging and shipping stores. I doubt they are all like this one, and if by chance they are, I dont know how they stay in business for long unless the folks using em are just idiots and dont know any better. :violent1: Course, I was one of those idiots myself I guess, since I went into that store. :tongue3: Talking to that gal made me feel like I was beating my head against a wall though. :BangHead: She was talking to me like I was some old fart who was senile :binkybaby: and didnt know any better.

Sorry for ranting on folks, I just dont like ANY kind of business charging or I should say OVER charging folks like that one seems to do..or I guess, that type seems to do, I dont know. Made me steaming mad and I guess I am still mad. :angry5: I can imagine, with all the old folks down here that maybe just dont know any better or perhaps just not physically able to box stuff up for themselves and having no choice but to use a place like that. Just doesnt seem right. I can see making a profit, you dont stay in business long unless you do, but a fair profit charging a fair price without taking advantage of folks. Called business ethics. Guess I have ranted enough and this part of the forum aint the place for it really.

Nope, wasnt mine. My ex business partner is still using our Ebay ID name, I think. Havent checked lately. He is selling heavy equipment and a few pickups and such now on ebay, or was. He was a car dealer prior to and during our business relationship. Great guy. We parted company amicably and he still has alot of the parts stock. He may start dealing in the parts again, or may not. We were both pretty burned out on the parts biz. Vintage car buffs are a strange breed all their own. :icon_scratch: Never could figure them out. Most are pretty nice folk but there seems to be a higher percentage of outright nuts in their group. :laughing7:

I think I was pretty much already out of the biz when you came out to my place last year. I think I still had a bunch of parts out in my warehouse at my place though. Not sure if I took you out there or not. Just dont remember. Old age catching up with this old fart ya know. If you saw the parts I had there, that was just, maybe, about a half of a percent of the total amount we had. And I am prob under estimating at that. The photo here shows about 1 percent of the total parts we had at one point. I dont know how many pallets of them we had.
