Here's the full disclosure. It's been used alot, it works but at high sensitivity you get extra tones. I'm pretty sure it's a loose sensor inside the rod. You can hear a rattle when you shake it. At low to moderate sensitivity it works perfectly. I popped the black disk off the end of the rod to inspect the sensor and glued on a plastic bottle cap in it's place. Most likely you will soon need to replace the rod. The upper rod for an Explorer XS is included. You'll need to find the zip strips you want to use to put the rod holders where you want. Since I can't make any promises on the performance I'm only asking $75 shipped for this one. These upper rods are hard to find now since Minelab isn't making them anymore.
