✅ SOLVED So, funny story...

We found like 4 of these yesterday in the same area as the CW bullets. Also found shotgun shells. Thinking it’s some sort of cap? We had them on a towel on our counter along with what looked like a small piece of bone (found in the same hole as a sliver of a bullet ), and 2 small slivers of bullets. Left to go to hubby’s parents’ house to show them the stuff we found. Came home....towel was still in place....everything on the towel was gone. I have 4 guilty parties. Two cats and two dogs. I’m pretty sure one of them ate everything Found one of the caps this morning while cleaning the house so now I can actually ask about it!!

These are the primer out of a shotgun shell. The rest of the shell has corroded and disappeared.

Thought that but also thought muzzleloader cap but wasn’t sure. There were several shotgun ends we dug up. There was some “stuff” around these primers...but I’m sure it has been ingested by a guilty party...

Inline muzzleloader uses a shotgun primer instead of a cap, just saying.

I agree with shotshell primers. The outside would be brass. I doubt they will hurt you dogs, cats, won't bother eating something like this, but next time keep them and the minie balls you will inevitably find out of their reach. Lead poisoning will kill them pretty fast.

Now, my CATS, they are just PIZZA thieves. One knocks it off the table. The other one eats the cheese and sauce and gets sick the next day.

Yea nothing is left on the counter anymore. The bullets weren’t whole, just like broken pieces? And the dogs are big but I’m watching for any symptoms. I do have one cat that is a thief...mostly a jewelry thief.
