So Close, Yet So Far

I never realized how close I was to an out cropping of large bolders resting near our house but on someone elses land.. Thou I was able to grab a pic.. and I Believe that most of this stone/bolder is marble, feildspar, quartz, mica.. and I did find a small vien of Smokey quartz.. I'm hoping to get permisson to take a few samples very soon.

It looks like you found yourself a pegmatite there - maybe in granite?

Drive through lower Ontario....every road seems to cut through a million out croppings of pink and gray granite, just like what you have here.

Hum.. the images aren't really that good.. and it's best to be there.. and I stand corrected "granite" I was so excited to have been that close to these minerals.. I was typing way to fast and I tend to get into trouble for it. As of yet.. no samples.. Foo.

I always wanted to know what those were. We have them all over our property and I keep bringing big rocks of them back to the house. My husband thinks I'm crazy lol.

Nah your not crazy.. Just you've taken an interest is something which is very easy to get involved into and easy to obtain them..
