Great find though! No doubt.
The back has GREAT detail still. I bet that's why you thought it was a 40's!
Maybe next time! Good luck!
Nice hunting! Congrats!

Ron congratulations on the 1916-s Merc dime. :icon_thumleft:
It was fun watching you gently dig it out from
among the mass of roots that it was hidden in and
not put a scratch on it. That is real dedication and patience. :notworthy:
Maybe the next one will be the "D" and you can retire. LOL
Gold Nuggets :hello:

WOOHOO RON!!! That's a nice Merc dime!! Too bad it wasn't a "D" mint! VERY COOL!

Scary, I read the title to your post, and knew exactly which coin you were referring to. Still a beautiful coin. Kudos!

Nothing wrong with that one Ron. Always love to see a merc pop out of the ground. Now go find the D.

Ron...that 1916 has some sweet detail. :headbang:

You'll get one one of these days Ron. Nice 16S though...Congrats..jgas

That is one beautiful teen's dime, Ron. Doesn't look like it was in circulation too long. Any silver at all is hard to find, but you ought to treasure that one.
