I use the 4 " sniper coil with my 250 just about all the time because it seems to find coins better plus I search a lot of trashy areas like under bleachers, school grounds etc... . I keep reading how it seperates the coins from the trash which is my question. When you hear overlapping signals with the famous "ACE"ding in there somewhere faintly, does this mean there's a coin hidden among the trash?

What you do on those signals is try to see if there is indeed more than one target. Sweep in tiny 2 inch sweeps moving around the target at different angles. Sometimes you can get like 3 good belltones in a row. But to be really honest it's just as fast to just dig it up and use the best discriminator you have - your eyes! Your eyes have a 100% success rate of knowing a good from a bad target. If I get a mixed signal and I'm not pressed for time - I dig. Good luck!

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. You just gotta dig and see.

If in doubt..."DIG IT" it costs you nothing and may just be the best find of the day! :icon_sunny:

Ive had singals like that and one ended up to be a buffalo and another was a silver 1958 dime.

Just dig and go for it.

I use my sniper coil just about every where because i hunt mostly in the city parks and neighborhood homesteads that have been torn down so its trash-a-plenty. My usual mode is kept on coin....but sometimes i use a custom mode. i notch out everything but nickel, dime and quarter. That way I hit those three and all the wheaties. that mode ignores all the new pennies and only gives me the older ones. I put my sensitivity about mid range depending on ground and trash conditions. The more trash the less sensitivity. But play with that mode and see what works out better for you.
