Sniper Coil On GTI 2500 Gets Great Relics And My Most Painful "NITRO" Ever
I spent about 9 hours hunting with a buddy of mine. He used his GTI 1500/Sniper Coil combo, I used my GTI 2500/Sniper Coil combo. I did some air tests the night before between the ACE 150/Sniper Coil and the GTI 2500/Sniper coil. The GTI 2500 got the greatest depth, nearly an inch greater using a penny, in true all metal mode. So....the GTI 2500 won the air test contest today, and it was the machine I used, as I wanted that extra depth in the area I was hunting. The sniper coil again, as many times before really performed well. It got into some tight spaces that really paid off. Some pottery and bottles were starting to show up in this new area.
Some of my first finds were 3 handgun bullets, all about 4-5 inches in the black dirt. They were in an area of about 7 feet. A also got an unfamiliar shotgun shell, and also dug up a very old SWISS ARMY KNIFE. I didn't think that they could rot to such adismal condition.
I was rewarded with a couple of silver dimes, a Wheat cent and a cool, civilian button of some sort. My buddy dug up a nice 1921 silver dime in good shape.
After spending about 5 hours in the same general location, we hopped in our vehicles and headed to another spot, which I have hunted before. Some drug addict lost his crack pipe, (foot) probably from wiping out and falling down the steep embankment I was climbing. And, under a log, someone stashed a set of Budweiser Binoculars.....too funny!
I located what was probably a dump, as there were signals everywhere and I poked around. I noticed more broken bottles, and after close observation on the ground, parts of intact bottles were showing in the dirt. I carefully removed them, and got some cool old bottles too. I had to do a lot of scrubbing with bleach and soap to get those bottles in better shape.
Here's my first batch of cleaned bottles. A nice perfume bottle with a cork still intact. The second bottle was probably for cream.
My second batch of bottles proved very interesting. The second one from the left "PRAIRIE ROSE MFG" looks like a beverage bottle of some sort. So far...I haven't been successful in getting any information on it.
The one to the right of it... "LYDIA E. PINKHAM'S VEGATABLE COMPOUND" has some very interesting history. It was one of the few medicines prescribed for females in the late 1800's for common female issues, the major one for this found bottle, menopausal symptoms. It was a very good seller, possibly because it also had a high alcohol content. One of my 80 year old patients where I work who after seeing the bottle, recognized it as something her mother used to drink for different ailments. I was pleased to have it dated that far back. And......there was actually a song written about Lydia Pinkham, as shown below. You will surely recognise it.

Most efficacious in every case
And finally, my nitro find. I was having a rest in the woods, when I noticed something lying in the dirt about 20 feet away. Being in no great hurry to get it, I was playing "guess what that could be" with myself. Belt buckle did cross my mind amongst several other guesses. Eventually I picked it up, and notice a torn belt was still attached to it. On the belt was the following:
"ROCA WEAR SINCE 1999 - MADE IN CHINA"
I was very disappointed, so say the least. I had gone from thinking I had the find of a life-time to realizing it was just a Chinese knockoff. Either way though, it was an all around successful hunt in many ways.......
