"Snake belt" was obvious. We Brit's were still using them to hold our pants up into the early 70's lol. Yours looks older and more solid. Nice find.

UKDFD (United Kingdom Detector Finds Database) is an awesome site where any decent UK detectorist registers their finds for posterity, information and identification. It's always a great reference site to try as many finds in the states can be colonial or UK immigrant items.
