That's some early stuff for Idaho! I bet that epaullette rang out good! I wonder why the trooper who "lost" it didn't think the opposition in the area would be wielding cavalry sabers? :tongue3:

Looks like a Spencer casing perhaps.

I've found about a dozen epaulettes, including one that's complete with the scales. Never found a plate or buckle though.....not for lack of trying! Thanks for the comment.
