Happy New Year! Now that 2008 is here, it's time to look back on the finds of 2007. Considering this was my second year of detecting, I did very well. Here are the totals and descriptions of pics in order:
83 wheats, $75. in clad (no pic)
New Silver 20, 8 mercs, 6 rosies, a 1968 part silver canadian dime, 4 washingtons, and 1 war nickel
Pre 1960 non silver Jefferson 6, Buffaloes 3, 20, 26, nd 99, 03, 06
Indian Head Cent: 28, most are very green, first 27 are shown, oldest is a 64
Best IH:1876, 1834 Hard Times token, Old Naval button, poor detailed 1778 British Halfpenny
In June, I discovered a trail in the woods at the CIA which led me to a cliff and a whole bunch of indians, barbers, and seated coins (not a pic)
Old silver total 22, 2 Victoria Canadian dimes 81H, ND, 6 seated dimes, 1891x3 1876,77,and 86
13 barber dimes, 12 are shown: 1892, 92o, 93s, 97s, 1900, 1901x2, 1901o, 02, 04, 06s, 11
1 Barber Q, 1892

And Finally, the one-two combo of the summer and fall, a key date 1896 o barber dime in fine, worth close to $300, the first barber coin I ever found, and surrounding it is a 1.44 oz 14k white gold bracelet! Happy New Year again!

Well I probably won't be doing any detecting until March if the snow doesn't melt upstate

Very nice totals for only your second year detecting, SMS!!
That trail in the woods was a great spot. I'm sure you will find a little more when the snow lifts, and the ground becomes unfrozen.

Well I probably won't be doing any detecting until March if the snow doesn't melt upstate

We're getting a good thaw starting this weekend, and it might be possible to hunt some woods sites by Sunday, them are the only spots that I hunt in the winter here in Michigan. I found 2 silver halfs in the woods the last week of december. I've been hunting adjoining woods to city and county parks myself lately. The ground don't freeze there like grass(lawns) and the hardest thing to contend with are leaves and some snow(hopefully not much).
