Tried one of the houses on my new permission. Dated to about 1890.

Just cherry picked across a wide range of spots near and far from the house. Of course, *WHOLE LOT* of garbage. But, I expected that much. All in all, a rather interesting walk. Learned a lot.

Of course, the prerequisite clad was there. :dontknow:

The kids seem happy nuff. ;)

And I am too. I did manage an old coin but its too toasted for me to ID.

Unless I miss my guess, I think this is the obverse.

The other side is no help.

It weighs in at 7.53 grams.
If my eyes aren't deceiving me, I *think* I see a capital letter "T" at about the 5 o-clock position. Have to look close. But...not too close!

Feel free to offer any thoughts.

And thanks ahead of time.

Also, thanks for peeking!

Hey - its a old copper :occasion14:

Looks like maybe a George III? nice hunt!

Don't know what the old copper is, but it still a keeper! Have you tried soaking it in lemon juice yet?

The copper looks like a William III or William and Mary. You might have just joined the 1600's club!

Hi, nice finds. Congrats:icon_thumright:

Nice bunch of saves. Congrats. I found one wheel bearing grease cover like the 2 ford ones you found but mine has Oldsmobile on it.

maybe something like this , old hook nose--431-original coooooooin.jpg

Some coins lend themselves to some sort of cleaning. I suspect that any attempt on this one would just turn it into a complete copper slug.

Thanks!

I'm not sure, but I think those grease cups are from a Model-T . Maybe.....if I keep digging.......?:tongue3:

It would be a first for me. To touch the 1600's....in a coin anyway.

Think its the one where only 3 are known? :tongue3:

Thanks!

There should be enough of a silhouette there to ID that awesome coin. Nice finds!
I have found toasted coins and rub lightly with my thumb. The oil/moisture in my skin cleans off the high spots just enough to get a better read on details and dates against the contrast dirt of the low spots.

Welp......as you can tell....I always want to know..... *WHADIFIND* ! :tongue3:

But, I do know where you're coming from, I'm open to suggestion.

Just what would you do? :dontknow:

Well that was an interesting stroll. Very nice finds, congrats!

The old coin does kinda look like the one Digger440yrs posted, the profile out line seems to fit. That would be awesome!

I see your finds made the whole crew happy.

And possibly your first 1600's coin, well done Sir!

Very nice, that old copper is interesting for sure. My guess would be KG I or III or the William and Mary, in any event, excellent finds sir!!
