My wife and I went to Pigeon Forge, Tn. for the thanksgiving holiday. We came back over the mountains Saturday and stopped to take a few pictures. We even got to see snow! About 5 minutes in it, we called it quits and headed back to south Georgia and warmer climates!

I was with a company that I had to fly to Atlanta from Denver over coarse of 4 month. It was in the fall and I had a weekend out there, so I took a drive to SMNP. Holy smokes do allot of folks head to that place in the fall to see the trees. I thought I'd never get out of there once I got in line with all those other vehicles. I'm thinking a good time to go there would be about this time of the year. Nice pictures, It is a very pretty place.

Love Pigeon Forge and the cars shows that the town has. Went over the mountains to the Cherokee Nation Reservation. Awesome place, people and the museum were great.

Did you get to go to Clingmans Dome? Air is a bit on the thin side up there.:laughing7:

I live an hour from there. A must see if anyone goes there is on the North Carolina side. Cataloochee. Near exit 20 off I-40 and then about 10 miles of narrow winding dirt roads but worth the trip. Here are a few pics from last month..

Beautiful area, our favorite vacation spot, love Cades Cove

The road was closed due to snow and ice when we went through. There were several cars waiting for it to open and that caused some traffic problems but we eventually got passed them and had a nice trip until we hit I-85 in Georgia.

Fall is definitely a high traffic time of year. But, Thanksgiving weekend was almost as bad! Pigeon Forge's main drag is 4 lanes in each direction and between 9am and 10pm it was bumper to bumper! As much as i like the smokys I will look for another destination next time.

I wish i had known about this while I was up there! There was a road sign at the park saying not to approach the elk as they were "active". That was a nice way of saying the rut was on and the elk were getting jiggy with it!

Wife and I went back there visiting cousins, didn't go to Dollywood, but enjoyed the trip through Cades Cove, and drove and hiked up to where you can see into 4 states.
I took a bunch of pictures, but I don't remember where I put them.

Drove through there once..wifey says if we don't go back to see the Salt and Pepper Shaker Museum in Gaitlinburg someday, then its over:laughing7:

Love the pics my friend, beautiful country up that way for sure!
