You're right! My DAD is the best and deserves the dignified capitalization of his life title ;-)

If I was a robot, I'd be powering up right now doing circles in my living room reading all of my metal detecting books forwards and backwards screaming MORE INPUT!!!!!!!!!!!! just WAITING to get out with my DAD and BRO for a weekend of pure metal detecting bliss.

The # 26 on the back was most likely a salesmans sample of a token "style".......after selling the token to the buisness they would have the business replacing that "style" number.

May I add that the 26 is the vendor at the carnaval. Good for tokens replaced money at the site. When the "trade" was paid for by token, "26" (in this csae) owed the bank to settle up before moving to the next site. TTC

Not what I ment at all......the salesman would contact the merchant and sell tokens to the merchant.......the merchant would assign whatever value they wanted 5cents....free drink.... free night in the bordello....whatever.

The merchant would then give these tokens to promote their value.... the banks had nothing to do with this at all.....sorry if I wasn't clear.....wow.... maybe I'm wrong......acording to my wife I am wrong quite often.... :tongue3:

Sorry Tom,
My fault for not defining "bank". Many carnevals were run on tokens. The "bank" was the guy(s) that handled the money.
