Hi all, been away for awhile ..visiting an old place of a punch up back in the 60s...found a few .577s and musket balls that were fired back at the english as an answer to there cannons...little brass hook in the centre is a .....what do you reckon..been suggested it could be a knapsack clip or a rear tunic fastening to stop the soldiers belt from sagging down...important to keep the pants up for sure..bit of frag and some small fuses ended a good day..thanks for looking....

That sure is a lot of lead good find ! :icon_thumleft: i have seen hooks like that one dug before they might be just as you said not really sure :dontknow: Good hunt Dd60

THANKS MATE...still hopin some one can throw light on the little hook

The hook is a nice find, I think the knapsack clip seems possible. I guess it could go on horse tack somewhere :dontknow: Not really sure, as we get very few 19th C Military related items as they were all overseas losing their stuff....
