Smallest horseshoe I have ever seen - what animal is it from ?




Found this looking through one of my fields today in Wales UK, its the smallest horseshoe I have ever seen.

Any ideas what this could have been from ?

I know, its puzzling me. It has all the features of a horseshoe except the size. It has 7 holes in it that either have nail heads or corroded over. I havent cleaned it up yet to get a better look.

Totally. They bred those mini horses to work in the coal mines in the UK. So thats the reason for the little shoes.

Miniature horse.

I like that idea, we are 50 miles from the nearest colliery so a possibility. However, i can only find a size 00 online which is about an inch bigger all round.
