#1 is a telephone bell (or other ringer bell).

#2 a .22 LR bullet

#3 :dontknow: small metal can - possibly a tape measure or net retractor with the spring rusted away.

What does LR mean?

LR = Long Rifle Refers to the type/size of the bullet. It is a modern slug.

The tin may be a snuff can.

Thanks DC, I knew it would be an easy question for someone who know anything about guns! I also agree the can would be for something like that.

I would need to see a photo to help me see how it could have been a tape measure or something like that. The item in the photo is in my hand and I have VERY small hands, so it wouldn't even hold a lot of snuff but it makes more sense to me! I appreciate all replies and I am not saying it isn't that, it is just that I am a visual person so unless it is obvious I usually need photo help! Thank you for your replies. Cindy

I dont thinks its a can of any sort. The lid would have to have a lip.I thought it may be a percussion cap tin,but no lip?

Good Point Kuger, I Googled percussion cap tins and some where close, I found some that had like a hinge like top so I looked at mine again to see if I could see any signs of that, but didn't see anything.

Cindy....second look,It appears it may of had a "lip",see the discoloration, down the side?It must be missing, but should have been in the hole.It would have been a thin band.It very well may be a cap tin

I see the space on the one side too though, which could lead toward a tape

I still don't get the tape thing, but what I will do it try to clean it up a bit and take better photos. I started taking photos in the field, because I kept forgetting what part of the ranch I dug things up in.

So now I know where I found things, but my finds are dirty and I don't have a table to set them on! I will try to get them posted tomorrow.

Thanks again for your time.

Even though now I can see the possibilities of a tape, I would say it looks more like the can came apart. The can was Very Fragile and was falling apart as I just held it! Thank goodness I carry a little bubble wrap when I detect for such occasions!

I will get better photos on sometime between now and tomorrow.

Saleratus also came in small tins like that, but they were made from a different metal.I have seen cap tins come out of the ground and crumble....I dont know what composition some of them were made from. Many things came in tins like that though,as was said.I have found tins still full of boot nails

Kuger, here are more photos of that tin or can or whatever it is! I did find a piece of the lid or the side of the lid which you can see in the photos.
