Found these little silver boxes in the back of a china cabinet I just bought second hand. I cant figure out what they are and what the markings mean. Any ideas? Thanks!
I tried to add another picture but it keeps failing. One of the boxes is about an inch and a half wide and 2 and a half inches long and the other is 1 inch wide and 1 and 3/4 inches long.
Yep, the little wooden match boxes. In the days when everyone smoked they sat on the coffee table along with an ashtray. My mother had a Chinese one made out of jade.
I agree, Be careful removing the cover as some of them are quite valuable. I have a 1900 Grand Prix cover that is worth several hundred dollars. X your fingers
