Small search coils vs medium on nickel counts

I've recently noted a trend in my searching. It seems that I always find "Many more" nickels when using my smaller version search coil vs the medium. Has anyone else noticed this?

You are probably notching out the pulltabs when using the larger coil. That is knocking out the nickels. Frank...

I use same setup for both coils. Here is pic of small and med coils.
