small purse thingy?

Says whiting an Davis on a small metal tag inside. Stroking picked it up at a thrift store for a dollar. Any idea wats its worth or is?

These purses are pretty collectible, but I'm not sure much they are worth. Try searching Whiting Davis purse on ebay, there are usually several on there.

Hi, I'm new to this site. But.. I happen to collect old purses. Your Whiteing and Davis looks to be in very good shape. Can't tell if it's metal mesh which is the best of W & D and most collectable. I've seen some in this condition for over $100 dollars. If it's metal mesh it might be upwards of $200 in perfect condition. You got a real steal !!!

They are from the 1920's. My grandmother had many of these purses. They can go from 100 to 400 dollars.

Hey guys haven't had time to get the purse checked out but it is still in my possession! I tested the whole thing and it is staying dark red on the test rock so I know its all silver I think its all sterling it weighs 4.87oz. The entire price is silver! However maybe it has more collector value?

Since it's marked 925 that means its Sterling Silver, so yes on being worth more than $5.00. Breezie

Very Nice Purse, as Breezie has said Victorian period, these types of purses were Chatelaine Mesh Coin Purses. The Whiting & Davis Company made it's first Mesh bag in 1892 and it being Silver would make it very collectable
