Small Motto 1864 Two Cent?

I found this 1864 two cent piece IMG_1413.webpIMG_1413.webpIMG_1412.webpseveral months ago and am trying to figure out if this is the small motto version or not. I know very little about coins. Sorry about the extra picture. Any advice is greatly appreciated. steve
 

I've looked in my coin book, but it is rather hard to tell for sure. If I had to render a guess I would go with the large version.

Yes, large motto (check the last t in trust and the left scroll end which are bold). Steve, a real nice find. There is something about the copper in the two's (and the classic head larges also) that for some reason is particularly susceptable to nasty pitting if not encased in the "green". Your's came out of the ground better than the vast majority. Real nice:icon_thumleft:
