✅ SOLVED Small Metal something or another

East Texas Piney woods on Private Property with owner's consent, found this thing, not sure what it is or how to describe it. The bent part is mallable. The rest of the metal is hard. The Other two things are just there, I think the white thing is a piece of plastic pvc tubing and the other I think is an old filter or wick holder. If you know otherwise, please share!

The only place I have ever seen this used is to hold the leaves in place for an Oak Leaf Table. The thumb tab simply slides into a brass or metal housing that is slotted into to the edge of the leaf. It doesn't hold the weight, it just locks it in place for either under the table storage or in place.

Looks like part of an old bell ringer, from a telephone. Would have been mounted between the bell and coil.
